Become a Companion to a Guest

Companions walk alongside our guests, providing mutual emotional and social support as well as help during difficult times.  They can spend time together doing things such as walking, watching movies, shopping and trying new things together.  Our guests often come with a rich and wide perspective and life experience and the friendship is a blessing to both Guest and Companion.

Become a Host

Hosts open one room of their home to a guest.  They share friendship, community and the love of Christ with their guest.  They ensure their home is safe (a physical safety checklist is provided). Hosts will create a suitable guest / host agreement with personalized house rules.  Hosts may want to take a 1-2 months off between hosting assignments.  Hosts are not expected to help with additional supports for the guests, freeing them to simply focus on housing. A community of hosts will be happy to walk along with you.

Why Become a Host?

  • It’s a wonderful and intimate way to share the love of Christ and to put the gospel on display in daily living

  • You can use your home and the normal events of your day with gospel intentionality

  • Learn different cultures and new foods

  • This experience can be transformational for the host.

  • Your children may benefit too!  Children who are raised in an environment of hospitality are exposed to greater perspectives and develop deeper compassion.

Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God
but our lives as well.
1 Thessalonians 2:8

When we practice hospitality, we experience the thrill of feeling God’s power to conquer our fears and our stinginess and all the psychological gravity of our self-centeredness.  And there are few joys, if any, greater than experiencing the liberating power of God’s hospitality making us a new and radically different kind of people, who love to reflect the glory of His grace as we extend it to others in all kinds of hospitality.
